The DPD is planned for completion in 8 semesters or 4 academic years with a minimum of 120 credit hours. The first 2 years are prerequisite courses along with general education requirements. The final 2 years include the professional courses of the program. Applications for a seat in the professional section of the program are reviewed every spring and seats are awarded for fall semester for senior status and the following fall semester for junior status. Applications from transfer students from other colleges and universities are also considered for the professional section if prerequisites are completed and minimum GPA requirements (3.0 or higher) are met. Interested students should schedule a meeting with the Program Director or other program advisor for an explanation of the profession, program requirements and course completion plan.
